What is "Polymetis"?
This Greek word is one of the primary epithets and adjectives Homer used to describe Odysseus. Various English translations have circulated over the centuries -- multitalented, crafty-minded, many aptitudes, "excellent in civil tricks," which seems a little confusing in my book. My personal favorite -- for ways that may be apparent below -- is "skilled in all ways of contriving."
All this aside, however, the etymology's pretty simple.
"poly" = many, "metis" = metiers, skills
So, Polymetis seems to fit: it's Greek for "jack-of-all-trades."
